March 15, 2016

Hi Guys!
Yesterday my group members and I agreed on having our plot incorporate computer coding. Isa (one of my group members) loves computer coding, so we decided that in our film opening we were going to put her skills to the test. The only thing I knew this morning about my plot was that it was going to be a thriller, and that we were going to incorporate computer coding in it. Then while in class I had an epiphany. While talking in small groups about how our projects were going, I was describing how my group and I wanted to in cooperate a coding screencast into our film opening… Then it hit me. Why not have someone code another person without that person knowing? The person being coded would especially be a robot. In our opening we wanted to show that the coder is controlling our protagonist. Her brain is essentially being hacked. We wanted to start off our film opening with the screen cast of the code. In it we will present the credits. While the “brain hacker” is coding the protagonist we wanted to show her reflection in the computer screen. This picture shows the look that we are going for in this scene. The main differences will be that the reflection will be of a girl, the background will be black, and the screen will be all black with only green codes. The following picture shows what the codes will look like without the reflection.

After we show our antagonist (the hacker) in the reflection of the computer screen. We want to cut to our protagonist getting ready for bed. We want to show that she is a normal teenager.
In this scene we want a close up of one of her brown eyes. Then we can do a graphic match to the hacker’s eye looking at the computer screen. She then presses, "enter" and we cut back to our protagonist sleeping and being woken up by the "enter" key being pressed. The audience then sees that her eyes are no longer brown but are now bright blue (as shown in the picture below). In this picture I am the one wearing the blue contacts. My group and I are still deciding if I will be the protagonist.

After this we are still trying to figure out what she will be doing while she is in robotic mode. Since it is a thriller we were thinking that she should be killing people, but as of now we are unsure. When she wakes the next day we want to imply to our audience that she has no recollection of these events. Well thats what we have for now! I'll keep you guys updated on any more progress.
Talk to you soon!
